June was born June 12, 1930 to William H. and Blanche M. Porter in Highpoint, Missouri. When she was 16 years old she moved to Tipton to work in the pants factory, which she did for 20 years.
In 1949, June married Leonard Frank Klein in California, Missouri and they made their home together in Tipton until his passing in December of 2011.
June and Leonard were charter members of the Tipton Country Club and she spent many days on the golf course through the years. Besides golf, she loved to bowl, play cards and watched all sports. She was a very competitive person in all she did, wanting to achieve her personal best in everything. That included being an excellent cook. A niece stated that her aunt even made the best cottage cheese ever.
