Ruby G. Kusgen, 94, of Blackwater, MO passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville, MO. She was born on February 26, 1917 near High Point, MO the daughter of William H. and Blanche Mae (Bilyeu) Porter, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on June 3, 1934 in California, MO to Herbert H. Kusgen who survives of the home. She was a graduate of Prairie Grove Country School and a member of California United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker. She is survived by 2 sons, Ted Kusgen of Blackwater, MO and Danny Kusgen of Sunrise Beach, MO; 3 daughters, Hulda (Louis) Pollman of Lee's Summit, MO, Lola (Jerry) McCarty of California, MO, and Ruby (Jim) Latham of Denison, TX; 1 brother, Melvin Porter of Russellville, MO; 2 sisters, June Klein of Tipton, MO, and Opal Ellison of Hallsville, MO; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 1 infant daughter, Nancy Kusgen; 1 grandson, Kevin Bird; 1 great-grandson Klint Andrews; 7 brothers, Richard, Raymond, Ebenezer, Robert, Kenneth, Cecil and Aubrey Lee Porter; 5 sisters, Linnie Dutcher, Dora Sperber, Elsie Hohman, Dorothy Russell, and Jane Reimler. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at California United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Salem Evangelical Cemetery. Speaking will be Mr. Paul Latham, a grandson. Visitation will also be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO.
