Mr. Lawson died Thursday (Oct 24, 1996) at home.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1914, in Elkhart to the late Jeremiah Timothy Lawson and Rachel Cross Lawson. He worked for the city of Elkhart for 47 years. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his sister, Dora Elender Munsinger, and brothers, Ernest Lawson and Lee Lawson.
He is survived by his wife, Viva Lorene Lawson of Elkhart; daughter, Laneda Murline Lawson Parker of Elkhart; sons, John Marshall Lawson, and James Edwin Lawson, both of Elkhart; sisters, Cora Mae Hamby of Palestine, Flora Thompson of Tyler, Lora Boren of Irving, and Linnie Lingo of Elkhart; brother, James Henry Lawson of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Lynn Lawson, Kenneth Lawson, Ricky Parjer, Terry Parker, and David Lawson.
