VERNON CARTER
STREATOR- Vernon Carter, 65, of 902 S. Park St. Streator, died at 9:45 a.m. yesterday [Dec. 17, 1991] at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hagi-Witerrowd Funeral Home, Streator. He will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at a later date.
Visitation will be two hours before the service.
He was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Wharton, Ark., a son of Homer and Beatrice Bolinger Carter. He maried Juanita Satern Sept. 8, 1956, in White Salmon, Wash. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Beatrice Wooley, Modesto, Calif.; three sons, Timothy and Dennis both of Streator; and Gerald, Pontiac; one daughter, Michelle Gallagher, Streator; three brothers, A.D., Fresno, Calif.; Charles, Sanger, Calif.; and William, Tacoma, Wash.; and two sisters, Bernice Osborn, Clovis, Calif., and Shirley Maples, Modesto.
His father preceded him in death.
He lived in Streator more than 23 years and was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church.
He was a retired truck driver for Ringle Express of Moline and was an Army verteran of World War II.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
