Evidence of marriage to Bobby Bilbrey:
Bobby was survived by what I believe to be his third wife and most likely source of information in the obituary. I am confident that we are talking of the same Bobby Ray Bilbrey as his parentage and location of birth coincide. What I have found is Bobby Ray Bilbrey attending the Waurika High School, a member of the 7th grade in 1952, a member of the 8th grade in 1953 and a Freshman in 1954 (other yearbooks, 1955, 1956 and 1957 are not available). Extrapolating the ages, derives a year of birth at 1940. (the School record is not in his obit?) A review of the marriage records in Wichita county, Texas for the date of 27 Aug 1957, offers evidence of the union between a Bobby Ray Bilbrey and Phyllis Parker (Phyllis was at the time a resident of Claypool community located approximately midway between Waurika and Ringling), and its extremely unlikely the marriage of a 14 year-old would be sanctioned. In further support, on June 29, 1958, a boy, Bobby Ray Bilbrey Jr. was born in Waurika , graduating in 1976 (not mentioned in the obit) and on Jan 6, 1963, another boy, Kevin Neal Bilbrey, was born to Bobby Ray Bilbrey Sr and Phyllis (Parker) Bilbrey, graduating in 1981 (again not mentioned in the obit). It must be accepted that following a divorce, in some extreme circumstances parents terminate all contact with their children, as I believe is the case in this instance. Bobby Ray Bilbrey Jr can be found at Find a Grave memorial #: 13998523 To insure all stones are turned, I made an unsuccessful search in southwest OK and north central Texas for another Bobby Ray Bilbrey of the same or similar birth date.
