Obituary – Norman

James Norman, son of George and Mary Norman, was born in the town of Ora, province of Ontario, Canada, on February 8, 1846, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. L. Poorman, of Richland Center, Wisconsin, October 24, 1932, aged 86 years, 8 months and 18 days.

In the year 1850 he came with his parents to Wisconsin first settling at Watertown. Four years later they came to Henrietta township, Richland county, where he grew to manhood and endured hardships of pioneer life.

On Thanksgiving day, 1875, he was married to Delia Anna Brown, and together they established a home at Henrietta, where, with the exception of a few years, he lived the remainder of his life.

To them were born three children, Josie M., who passed away August 10, 1916, Elmer J., of Woodstock, and Ida Poorman of Richland Center. There are also four grandchildren and one great grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.

His wife preceded him in death on February 19, 1912, also five brothers and two sisters, he being the last member of his family to answer the final call.
