Fred was born on Hurley Street in the north-eastern part of Sedalia, Missouri the 7th of 10 children of William F. Wehmeyer (1889-1957) and Martha Francis (Sebree) Wehmeyer (1896-1943).

For 18 years, Mr. Wehmeyer operated a milk route for Tullis-Hall Dairy. He and his wife operated the Wehmeyer Trailer Court at 36th and Grand in Sedalia, Missouri.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on April 1, 1964 at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia with Rev. Walter P. Arnold officiating. Music was provided by organist Mrs. Clyde Waters and soloists Mrs. Walter Arnold and Mrs. Don Carver. Pallbearers were Jim Hicks, Lloyd Robertson, Merle Griffith, Otis Hammond, Harold Greer, Charles Siron.
