Charmaine Ann Hartmann, age 86, a resident of Osakis, MN passed away
June 1, 2018 at Galeon Senior Living Community in Osakis.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at
the Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis with burial in the Calvary
Catholic Cemetery. Honorary bearers are Leslie Baumann, John Hartmann,
Briana Hartmann, Amanda Hartmann, Michelle Hartmann, Melanie Falk, Jessica
Hartmann, Amanda Geones and Foster Grandparents, Kathy Bowman and Ruth
Hinnenkamp. Active pallbearers are Philip Weitzel, Matthew Weitzel,
Alexander Falk, Paul Hartmann II, Holden Baumann and Ben Geones. Visitation
hours are from 4 - 8 pm on Friday, June 8 at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in
Osakis, MN.
Charmaine was born on August 21, 1931 in rural Howard Lake to Adalbert
and Isabelle (Fasching) Brose. She grew up in Winsted, MN. Charmaine
attended country school and Holy Trinity School, graduating in 1949. She
then attended and graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College. Charmaine met
her future husband, Donald Hartmann while in college. They married July 26,
1952 at Holy Angels Church in St. Cloud. God blessed their marriage with
eight children. Together, they celebrated 63 years of married love.
Charmaine taught elementary grade school, having a 20 year career
teaching and substitute teaching. She was a homemaker who enjoyed
gardening, canning, traveling, polka, waltz and organ music. A lifetime
highlight was dancing a polka with Bobby Burgess from the Lawrence Welk show
at a concert held in Sauk Centre, MN. Charmaine played the church organ for
23 years at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis and sang in the
church choir many years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and St.
Elizabeth's Mission Group and served as a liturgical layperson. She was a
Foster Grandma at St. Agnes School in Osakis for 17 years, always looking
forward to helping children.
Charmaine is survived by her children, Maureen (Stephen) Weitzel of
Willmar, Jerome (JoAnne) Hartmann of Owatonna, Robert (Ann) Hartmann of
Nashville, TN, Brian (Jayne) Hartmann of Eagle Bend, George Hartmann of
Rochester, Renee (Timothy) Falk of Apple Valley, Gerald (Lori) Hartmann of
Sauk Centre, and Paul (Ann) Hartmann of Osakis; 14 grandchildren; 9 great
great grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Horstmann of Winsted; brother, Ralph
(Joan) Brose of Cass Lake; sister-in-law, Shirley (Roger) Schahn of Bertha,
MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, a
grandson, Jeremy Rowland; her brothers, Stephan and Michael Brose and a
sister, Elmerine Nowak. Arrangements are with the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home
in Osakis, MN
