Mr. Jasper “J” Walker Wolfe, age 85, died on Friday, June 01, 2018 at Willow Pond Senior Care under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Surrency native was a graduate of Surrency High School and a 1956 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Pharmacist Degree. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. Following his service he moved to Valdosta and Smyrna before moving to Hawkinsville and was the owner and operator of J’s Drug Store for over 20 years. He moved to Bulloch County in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Allie D. Wolfe; his siblings Myrna Dean W. Mowrey, Gurman Manning Wolfe, Mary Azelia Cameron W. Mckenzie, Joelia Carolyn W. Moreland, Robbinette W. Strange, Gwendolyn Lee W. Tillman, William Weyman Wolfe, Robert Warren Wolfe and Jerry Edward Wolfe.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Kimberly Wolfe of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law: Allyson and Tracy Pollard of Statesboro; six grandchildren" Robert Wolfe, Madelyn Wolfe, Ryan Wolfe, Logan Pollard, Lily Pollard and Sophie Pollard; one brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Betty Wolfe of Pelham, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Willow Pond Senior Care for their excellent care they provided Mr. J.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bagwell officiating.
Interment will be in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Baxley, GA at 3:00 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be the residents and staff of Willow Pond Senior Care.
