Pioneer and president of the
Sunland-Tujunga Telephone Co.
Since 1922, died yesterday in a
Glendale sanitarium.
Born in Toronto, Can., Mr.
Adams came to Sunland at the
age of 10. He built the first
house there, founded the Sunland
Olive Co. and was proprietor of
The Sunland Olive Market.
His home was at 10529 Floralita
Ave., Sunland.
Mr. Adams leaves his widow
Nettie, two sons, Elmer R. Adams
of Sunland and James Q. Adams
of Porterville; five daughters, Mrs.
Lita M. DeLapp, Mrs. Mildred A.
Patterson, and Mrs. Marie N. Pardieck
of Sunland, Mrs. Carrie F. Lancaster
of Alhambra and Mrs. Ethel M. June
of Porterville; a sister, Mrs. Lottie
Reeds of Los Angeles, 18 grandchildren
and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at
1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of
Sacred Memories of L.G. Scovern
Mortuary, Glendale. Interment will
