At the time of his death FATHER WELLER was spending the summer with two of his children, Howard and and Mrs. Emma Gilbert, in Kansas, and the announcement that he had passed over the river of de ath cast a gloom over the entire community, he having been a resident of this vicinity about 30 years. His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near Home, Kansas, Wednesday of last week at 2 o'c lock P. M.
The deceased was a member of the M. E. church of this place for a number of years and died in full hope of a home with his Saviour in that bright forever where disease and death are felt and fear ed no more. FATHER, rest in peace, thy warfare is o'er. FATHER WELLER has passed from among us, no more shall we listen to his counseling words pointing out the way of the Lord.
Another soldier has joined the ranks of the silent majority. FATHER WELLER served his country faithfully as a member of the 36th Iowa Infantry, until stricken with disease, from the effects of w hich he never fully recovered.
He leaves a wife and 8 children, two who were with him at the time of his departure, Howard and Mrs. Emma Gilbert, two in Washington state, Herbert and Ralph, Elmer near Melrose, Willie near Hite man, and Mrs. Flora Tucker and Mrs. Orpha Ulsh, of this place, together with a host of friends and acquaintances to mourn his death.
To the bereaved and aged wife and children we extend our heartfelt sympathy in their affliction. He is waiting for us on the golden shore.
"Asleep in Jesus! Far from thee,
Thy kindred and thy friends may be;
But thine is still a blessed sleep,
From which none ever wakes to weep."

He is my 2nd great-grandfather.
