Lonnie Abrams, Sr., age 65 of Connersville, passed away on Saturday September 17, 2011 at the Fayette Regional Health System.
Born on December 7, 1945 in Connersville, he is the son of the late Ruffie and Bertha Day Abrams.
He had owned and worked in local stone quarries and loved taking care of his animals. He also enjoyed visiting with family and the many friends that came to the Columbia Store.
He is survived by his significant other, June Dilts; three sons, Lonnie Abrams, Jr., Jeff Abrams, and John (Melissa) Abrams all of Connersville; two grandchildren, Caleb and Kaylie Abrams; four sisters, Lutisha Jackson of Connersville, Phyllis (James) Wells of Phoenix, AZ, LaVerne (Bill) French of Laurel, and Martha (Steve) Wicker of Connersville; five brothers, Herbert Abrams of Connersville, Lemuel Abrams of Laurel, Lermon Abrams of Connersville, Jerry (Leita) Abrams of Laurel and Jon Wayne (Melody) Abrams of Laurel; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Marie Fields and a brother Herschel Abrams.
Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Wednesday September 21, at 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Laurel North Cemetery.
