Funeral services were held for Elvon Bruce Hobby, 99, of Warner Robins, Ga., formerly of Lucedale, on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at George County Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Reggie Smith officiating the services.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired U.S. Air Force civil servant where he worked in procurement and a member of Shirley Hill Baptist Church, he died May 10 in Lucedale. He was born April 9, 1919 in Merrill.
He is survived by his daughters Eleanor (Robley) Evans of Wilmer, Ala., Faye Roberts of Warner Robins, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 plus years, Loren Hobby; son Jeffrey Hobby; daughter Mary Evelyn Eubanks; granddaughter Adrienne Evans; parents Bowden and Eddie Hobby; sister Hazel Williams; and brother Jexie Hobby.
Pallbearers included Tim Roberts, Mike Havard, Benny Eubanks, Lance Roberts, Charlie Eubanks, Greg Evans, Horace Eubanks, Dennis Roberts, Dawson Wilkerson and Don Brewer.
George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
