Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Perce N. and Elizabeth Brown Miller, and spent her adult life as a member of the Powdersville Community. Bernice retired from Carolina Rubber Hose at Donaldson Center, where she worked for many years in administration.
Bernice was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Powdersville, as well as the Fellowship Sunday School Class, and the Forever Young and Leisure Groups. There was nothing more important to her than her family, and the joy of her life was her many grandchildren.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Linda Roper Thompson (Donnie), and Deborah Roper McDowell of Powdersville; Grandchildren Chad McDowell (Summer), Corey McDowell (Maranda), Savannah Davis (Rusty), Michael Lockaby (Betsy), Jeremy Lockaby (Schӧn); eleven great grandchildren; Will, Nicole, Joey, Maggie, Jake, Chelsea, Morgan, Chase, Luke, Tenleigh and McKenna; two great-great grandchildren, Landyn and Kenleigh.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Houston, and her precious daughter, Cynthia Roper Allen.
