Edward Hotchkiss, 88, passed away Tuesday afternoon after an illness of three weeks in Wesley Hospital in Wichita. He had spent most of his life in Burlingame, operating a coal mine for a time. He moved about two years ago while suffering with ill health.

Mr. Hotchkiss was born Feb. 10, 1867 in Falkirk, Scotland, and came to the United States with his parents in 1885.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this Thursday afternoon at the Federated Church in Burlingame with Rev. A. A. Van Sickle in charge. Carey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Burlingame Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Calkins of Garden City and Mrs. Al Capino of Wichita; four sons, Edward and William of Wichita, Alex of Lyndon, Neil of LaCrosse, and one sister, Mary Washington of Pittsburg, Kan.
