James Vivian Waggoner
James Vivian Waggoner, son of John and Mary Waggoner, was born February 18, 1881, at Fortescue, Holt county (sic), Missouri, and passed away April 2, 1944, at the home of his son, Harry at Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 14 days.
He was united in marriage to Cora Lawson at Falls City, Nebraska, August 15, 1899. To this union five children were born. One son, Harry, live at Hastings, Nebraska; four daughters, Mrs. Loree Schoeni of Smith Center, Kansas; Velma Rice and Mary E. Larsen of Omaha and Arleta Carlson of Lincoln, and two grandchildren. They also reared a niece, Marion June Lawson of Lincoln, Nebraska. He also leaves one brother and four sister (sic), W. W. Waggoner of Fortescue, Missouri; Mrs. Frances Steinhauer of Rulo, Nebraska, Mrs. Kate Lease of Mound City, Missouri; Mrs. Pearl Butrick of Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Gertie Hudson of Lake City, Iowa. One sister, Mrs. Ora Hayes, preceded him in death. March 1, 1889.
He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, 1944, at 9:30 a.m., at the McGhie Funeral Home in Edgar, Rev. S. W. Longacre was in charge.
Singers were Mrs. E. J. Mort and M. E. Cushing. Mrs. Lydia Phelps was at the piano.
Pallbearers were C. W. Harpster, Wade Babers, Harvey Elye, M. P. Bogich, Ernest Brown and Floyd Brown.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m at the Methodist church (sic) in Rulo, Nebraska, conducted by Rev. R. E. Carlyon.
Burial was in the Rulo cemetery (sic).
