Warren Jacob Hotzler was born October 5, 1927, to August and Amelia (Hesh) Hotzler. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Okabena and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rost Township. He graduated from Okabena High School in 1946. He was united in marriage to Elaine Loeschen on August 9, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. They were blessed with five children Mark, Marlene, Marilynn, Curtis and Daniel.

Warren grew up on the family farm south of Okabena until he got married. He then moved to Okabena and worked at the Okabena Public School as the Head Engineer for 30 years, custodian and supervisor of the buses for 50 years. He enjoyed watching sports, going fishing with his friends and music. Warren was the last surviving original member of the Okabena German Band, which he was a part of for 50 years. He participated in many parades. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a past elder of the congregation. He was a past member of the Okabena City Council and Fire Department.

Warren and Elaine loved to camp and travel. After his retirement they would go to Weslaco, Texas and spend their winters. Warren and Elaine moved to Sartell in 2013 to be closer to family. Warren entered the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids, MN in April 2017.

Warren passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 90.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Mark (Jane) Hotzler, Marlene (Jim) Wolff, Marilynn (Roger) Voit, Curt (Kelly) Hotzler and Daniel (Chris) Hotzler; grandchildren, Stephanie (Quenton) Hotzler Scherer, Jaclyn (Greg) Hotzler LaMere, Justin Wolff, Kristina Wolff, Brian Voit, Michael Voit, Kyle Hotzler, Kayla Hotzler, Christopher Mesa, Jacob Hotzler, and Levi Hotzler; great grandchildren, Devan Scherer, Dylan Scherer, Keegan LaMere and Della LaMere.

Warren was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Ralph, Harold and Robert, and sisters-in-law, Josephine Hotzler, Lorena Hotzler and Mary Hotzler.

His confirmation verse was: "Be Thou Faithful" Rev. 2:10

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN and also one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Okabena, MN. Warren's grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Lunch will immediately follow the funeral service at the Okabena Legion. Burial will follow the luncheon at the Lakeside Cemetery in Heron Lake, MN.
