HEART ATTACK IS FATAL TO A.C. TURPIN
Altha Clinton Turpin, 79 year old Marion County farmer, died of a heart attack at 1:35 a.m. Monday July 6, 1970 at Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he had been under treatment two weeks.

A native of Casey County, he was a son of the late James D. and Ileta Mullins Turpin. He made his home on Star Route, Lebanon.

Mr. Turpin is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora Dever Turpin; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis Yowell, Bradfordsville; two sons, Don of Indianapolis, Ind., and Alton C, turpin, Lebanon, and five grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Jerry Lamb, Farmer City, Ill., Mrs. Allen Flint, Bellflower, Ill., and Mrs. Everett Fugate of Weldon, Ill; three brothers, Fred and Elmer Turpin, Farmer City, Ill., and Archie Turpin of Weldon, Ill and five half sisters.

The body was at Bosley Funeral Home where services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Patrick Chamberlain. Burial was in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Horace W. Grubbs, Lawrence Miles, Gene Turpin, Carl and James Lamb and J.W. Dever.

He is the first child of 8 children of James Dow Turpin (1869-1949) and Ileta Elizabeth Wallace (Mullins) Turpin (1875-1915). He married Nora Dever (1895-1973) in Bradfordsville, Kentucky on Sept 5, 1912.
