Marie E. Groppe, 91, New Haven, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007, at New Haven Care Center.

Mrs. Groppe was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Draper, S.D., the daughter of August Hahne and wife Maria, nee Wilkins. She and her brother were TWINS. Her twin brother Daniel survives her.

On Jan. 12, 1979, she was united in marriage to William Blowers.

She was united in marriage to Elmer Groppe Aug. 28, 2004.

Mrs. Groppe was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Haven, New Haven Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Hermann. She was a former member of St. James Evangelical Church, Stony Hill.

She worked at Hermann Hospital as a respiratory therapist for many years. She also worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory.

Mrs. Groppe was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Marshall Coulter, on Sept. 8, 1976; her second husband, William Blowers, on Aug. 13, 2000; one brother, John Hahne; and two sisters, Clara Richards and Emma Sandborn.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer Groppe, Hermann; one brother, Daniel Hahne, Jefferson City; two sisters, Ella Schalk, Owensville, and Louise Remillard, South Dakota state; one sister-in-law, Mable Hahne, Washington; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
