"Mrs. Anna Gray Maris was born in Belmont county, Ohio, January 25, 1833, departed this life March 30, 1920, at Quincy, Ill., after a brief illness, aged 87 years, 1 month and 25 days. She was united in marriage to J. E. Maris April 5, 1851. To this union nine children were born, three boys and six girls. The husband, three sons and one daughter preceded her in death. The daughters who are left are: Mrs. Ada Fox, Freeport, Ill.; Mrs. Emma Dewees, Palyra, Mo.; Mrs. India Gray, Quincy, Ill.; Mrs. Mollie Shout, Pontiac, Ill.; Mrs. Fannie Agee, Windsor, Mo.

When a young woman she united with the M. E. Church and had been a faithful follower of her Savior for more than seventy years.

She was a resident of Windsor for many years, leaving here several years ago for Quincy, Ill., where she resided until the death summons came.

The body arrived here Thursday afternoon and was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fannie Agee, and funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. B. Swinney, were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon and interment made in Laurel Oak Cemetery."
