James Duncan, 75, Avon, formerly of Indianapolis, died February 2, 2004. He was born on July 14, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 & 12 years and was honorably discharged in December 1948. He married Geneva R. Byers on November 21, 1953. He worked at General Motors for 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a 44 year member of the Evergreen-Oriental Masonic Lodge and a 35 year member of the Valley of Indianapolis Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the American Legion and Garfield Park United Church of Christ. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5 at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva. He is survived by daughters, Eva R. Monroe of Avon, IN, Pamela S. Duncan of Woodstock, IL, and Donna K. Hall of Westminster, CO; siblings, William of Indianapolis and Patty of Kentucky and eight grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Adam's Camp (provides therapeutic programs for children with special needs and their families), 5251 South Quebec St., Greenwood Village, CO 80111-1820.
