Mrs. Adelia Williams

Mrs. Adelia Williams, widow of Silas Williams, formerly of the town of Carmel, died on Saturday, Sept 7th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Ferguson, in Patterson, from the infirmities indicent to old age. Mrs Williams was eighty years old and her maiden name was Knapp. Her husband died some years ago.

She is survived by four sons, Wesley and Coleman Williams, of the town of Carmel, John Williams, of Danbury, and Silas Williams, who is a resident of Dutchess County, and one daughter, Cassie, wife of Samuel Ferguson, at whose home she died. Another daughter, Marilda, wife of Nathaniel Smalley, died some twenty years ago.

The funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m., at the residence of her daughter, in Patterson and the remains were buried beside her husband in the old Gilead Cemetery, Carmel.
