OSKALOOSA — Services for Alphy D. Adam, 88, Oskaloosa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church at Perry, with the Rev. Albert Wietharn officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Perry. Mr. Adam, who was born Sept. 12, 1899, in Aurora, died Sunday at a Topeka hospital. He had farmed and was a railroad worker at Miltonvale in Cloud County before he moved to Manhattan in 1946. He worked for the railroad in Manhattan and later worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita before he retired in the early 1970s. He moved to Oskaloosa in November 1987.
He married Eva Cyre on Nov. 18, 1920, at St. Joseph. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Dewetta Peterson, Wichita, and Betty Campbell, Plevna; five sons, Ted Adam, Springfield, Mo., Harland Adam, Wichita, Keith Adam, Oskaloosa, Luke Adam, Charlotte, N.C., and Gary Adam, Nipomo, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30p.m., Tuesday.
