Earl L. Colson, 93, formerly of East Walnut Street, Lancaster, died on Thursday evening, March 8, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Rehm) Colson, who died on January 22, 2004.

Earl had retired from Frito Lay, Inc., where he was a route salesman.

Born November 21, 1924, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Earl D. and Florence M. (Hacker) Colson. He graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School. Earl was a proud WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He served with the 343rd Inf. Div. from February 20, 1943 - March 12, 1946. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting and cooking.

Earl is survived by his son; Ronald Colson, Sr., married to Susan A. (Wilson) Colson, of Milton, DE; grandson; Ronald Colson, Jr., of Milton, DE; granddaughter; Kristine L. Moore, of Manheim, PA; great-granddaughters; Cortni R., married to Dustin Sweigart, of Columbia, PA, Samantha L. Miller, fiancée of Bradley Faddis, of Manchester, MD and Hailey N. Moore, of Manheim, PA; two great-great-grandchildren; Cyrus H. Sweigart and Saige S. Sweigart, of Columbia, PA; nieces; nephews; grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; Maurice E. Colson and Charles W. Colson, Sr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home-Sullivan Home, 121 South Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 (on-site parking with attendants) on Tuesday morning, March 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home-Sullivan Home, Lancaster on Tuesday morning between 10-11 a.m. Interment will be held in the Riverview Burial Park, South Duke Street, Lancaster, PA with Military Honors.
