Another pioneer has passed away and again we are called upon to chronicle the death of one of Adams county's aged mothers. Mrs. Samuel Dutcher died at her home near Monmouth on Wednesday of last week. Interment took place last Friday. Catherine Dudelson was born, Fairfield county, Ohio, September 21st, 1811, departed this life May 18, 1898, aged 86 years, 7 months and 27 days. She was married to Samuel Dutcher, April 24th, 1832; to this union there were twelve children born, seven sons and five daughters. Two sons died in infancy, two sons after manhood, one in war. Eight children survive the mother, five daughters and three sons, with fifty-three grandchildren and eighty-two great-grandchildren. She was a member of the M. E. church from her girlhood until Feb. 1869, when she was received into the Concord Lutheran Congregation by Rev. Father Exline, where she retained her membership until death. She with her husband came from Ohio to this state Sept. 1849, thus giving her residence in about the same community for forty-fine years. She was the wife of her now aged husband sixty-six years and twenty-four days. She was an attentive wife and a devoted mother.
