Mrs Amanda Adolph died at her home in Scranton, Monday morning, May 11th, 1925, after an illness of a few days. Mrs Adolph was well known in this community having lived here for several years, and held in high respect by all who know her. As Amanda Wilcox she was born in Illinois, Feb 24, 1860. She was married to George Adolph July 3rd 1877. To this union were born ten children: Mrs Phoebe Younker, of Eskridge; Mrs Mary Coon of Burlingame; George Adolph of Burlingame; Joe Adolph of Bigheart, Okla; Mrs Nora Hostram of Burlingame; Mrs Lottie McKnight of Eskridge; William Adolph of Michigan Valley; Mrs Clara Buterfield of Quenemo; Clarence Adolph of Scranton and Harvey Adolph who was killed in the World War Sept 12, 1918.

Mr Adolph died Oct 13, 1910. Since that time Mrs Adolph has made her home in and around Scranton. She leaves to mourn her death besides her 9 children, 35 grandchildren and 4 great grand-children; also the aged-Mother, 8 brothers, and 3 sisters.
