On May 16, 1918 in Arlington, TX, God blessed Orville Franklin and Mattie Lou (Goodman) Davis with their firstborn, a beautiful baby girl, Dorothy Mae Davis. On March 5, 2018, Dorothy Mae stepped from her Earthy life into Life Eternal in Heaven at the age of 99.
At the age of 6 years, Dorothy Mae and her family moved from Texas to Oklahoma in a covered wagon, settling in the community of Round-Up, near Milo, where she and her brother Francis later attended school. At the age of 17, Dorothy met Ernest Delbert Beavers whom she married after a short courtship. The couple moved to Rexroat, OK where they established their home and raised seven children to adulthood, losing an infant son at the age of 8 days. Dorothy, Ernest, and their oldest three sons were all Charter Members of the Rexroat Baptist Church, where Dorothy taught Primary Sunday School during the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. Dorothy Mae worked as a homemaker, nurse’s aide, and a Ward Clerk at the Ardmore Adventist Hospital for several years.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy Lived through 18 Presidents, 7 Wars, the Great Depression, Man’s first walk on the Moon, and numerous other World renowned events. Well known for being ready to go “at the drop of a hat”, Dorothy traveled to the Philippine Islands, Hawaii, and went on several cruises-the last at age of 96.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Mattie Lou Davis; husband of 48 years, Ernest Delbert Beavers on June 30, 1984; sons Gary Lynn Beavers in 1951 and Calvin Robert Beavers in 2015; brothers Francis Davis, Orville Franklin Davis, Jr., Charles Davis, and Herrall Davis; and sister Sandra Solesky.
Left to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Ernest Orville Beavers and his wife Mabini of Tulsa, Jerry Dale Beavers and his wife Kathy of Moore, and Billy Wayne Beavers and his wife Donna of Harrah; 3 daughters Patsy Joan Gothard of Ardmore, Barbara June Gill and her husband John of Ardmore, and Vicki Sue Briant and her husband Carl of Midwest City; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 23 great great-grandchildren; brother Orville Ray Davis; sister Brenda Moyer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church on Saturday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Jimmy May officiating. Interment will follow at Keller Cemetery, near Rexroat, OK.
