Robert is survived by his mother, Dorothy Mae Beavers; his wife, Anne Beavers; children, Dorothy S. Beavers, William E. Beavers, Robert W. Beavers and Brittani D. Moon, and their mothers, Ruth Zimmer and Evelyn Beavers; grandchildren, Valerie Hunter, Ryan Beavers, Marianna Lund, Monica Storozyszyn, Shelby Beavers, Kyle Beavers and Noah Moon; great-grandchildren, Ziona and Kymani Hunter; siblings, Ernest O. Beavers and wife, Mabini, Jerry Beavers and wife, Kathy, Bill Beavers and wife, Donna, Patsy Gothard, Barbara Gill and husband, John and Vicki Briant and husband, Carl.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest D. Beavers; and brother, Gary L. Beavers.
Robert was born on Jan. 15, 1937, in Rexroat, Okla., to Dorothy and Ernest Beavers. He graduated from Rexroat High School and joined the U.S. Navy where he served as an Electrician’s Mate. After his service in the military, he settled in Oklahoma where he raised his family. He retired from the U.S. Post Office and became a self-employed entrepreneur. His interests included farming, traveling, coaching, bowling and politics. His children will always remember him as an optimistic dreamer, who always had several irons in the fire and never met a stranger.
A memorial is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Keller Cemetery in Wilson with a reception to follow at his son’s house in Moore, Okla.
