Rita L. Jessup, a longtime Peekskill resident, died yesterday of heart failure at Phelps memorial Hospital Center in North Tarrytown. She was 74.
Mrs. Jessup was born Jan. 15, 1917, to George and Mary McDonough Snyder in New York City. She was raised and educated in New York City.
Her marriage to Douglas Norman Jessup Sr. ended in divorce.
In the 1940's, Mrs. Jessup settled in Peekskill, where she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas and Richard Jessup, both of Peekskill; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
