AGNES MENGE

Agnes Menge, 98, McVille, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, in Nelson County (N.D.) Health System-Care Center.

Agnes Loe was born July 21, 1901, the daughter of Bennie and Nettie (Hermanson) Loe, in Pekin, N.D. She attended school in McVille and graduated from Concordia Normal, Moorhead. She received her teaching degree from Moorhead College and taught in Halstad, Minn., and McVille. She married Arnold Menge on June 25, 1928, in Pekin. They owned and operated the Menge Hardware Store for 32 years before retiring in 1960. Arnold Menge died May 21, 1976.

She is survived by daughters LuVerne (Robert) Peterson, Pelican Rapids, Minn., and Marilyn (Paul) McRae-Raadt, Northfield, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Janice Menge, Bismarck; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, James (Cecil), McVille; and a sister-in-law, Ella Loe, McVille.

She was preceded in death by a son, David; two grandchildren; three brothers; a sister and a son-in-law.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, McVille Lutheran Church.

Burial:Sheyenne Church Cemetery, Pekin (Stanley-Iverson, McVille).
