Leonard J. Loe, 96, McVille, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in Nelson County Health System-Care Center, McVille, where he had lived since 1998.
Leonard J. Loe was born Feb. 19, 1903, the son of Bennie and Nettie (Hermanson) Loe, in Pekin, N.D., where he attended school. He attended Hanson Tractor School in Fargo. He married Ella Tangen on Dec. 12, 1925, in Pekin. They lived and farmed in Pekin. In 1960 they moved to Boulder, Mont., and later to McVille.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Shirley (Maynard) Olson, Helena, Mont., Phyllis (VernAl) Kroke, Surprise, Ariz., and Connie (Robert) Stenson, Rugby, N.D.; a son, Charles Bud, McVille; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Menge, McVille; and a brother, James (Cecil), McVille.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois; a son, Keith; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Loe; a grandson; brothers, Bertic and Myron; and a sister, Esther.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Sheyenne Lutheran Church, Pekin.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Sheyenne Church Cemetery, Pekin.
