Born December 15, 1920, in Randolph County, Etta was the daughter of the late Hezekiah and Mattie Lamb Andrews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Deborah Lee Macon, and eight brothers and sisters. Etta was a homemaker and was a member of Cedar Square Friends Meeting. She was a former volunteer at Randleman Elementary School. Etta enjoyed quilting, making baskets, painting, arranging flowers and reading.
She is survived by five children, Carol Macon Robbins and husband, Wade, Darrell Macon and wife, Gail, Randell Macon and wife, Ernestine, Martha Macon Hall, and John Macon; a sister, Dorothy Michaels; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Ben Hurley, retired Quaker minister, and Rev. Jason Baker. Interment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery.
