Virla Andrews Shaw, age 95, formerly of 801 Holliday Dr. Greensboro, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation, Greensboro.
Mrs. Shaw was born September 4, 1916 the daughter of Hezekiah L. and Mattie Lamb Andrews.
Mrs. Shaw was a native of Asheboro and a retired seamstress from Rampon Industries. She was a member of Spring Garden Friends Meeting. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Jack Shaw; sisters: Artie Lee, Cora Marie and brothers Clovis and Britt Andrews.
She is survived by: son and his wife: Tom and Patty Stockner of Winston- Salem, NC; son and his wife: Steve and Crystal Shaw of Rogers, AK; grandchildren: Tommy Stockner; Angela Lazure; Justin Shaw; step grandchildren: Kent Hanes, Duane Hanes, Stephanie Anastasia; great grandchildren: Lauren Stockner; Rachel Lazure; sisters: Dee Coble of Asheboro, NC, Betty Pell of Asheboro, NC, Dorothy Michaels of Asheboro, NC, Edna Mae Macon of Pleasant Garden, NC; brother: Frank Andrews of Asheboro, NC and special niece, Joyce Pinnix of Greensboro, NC
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ben Hurley officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
