Norma Eileen Bronestine Trumblee, 90, of Canton, MO formerly of Lamont, Iowa and LaGrange, MO died at 8:30 am Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton. She was born May 18, 1927 in Quincy, IL, a daughter of Edward William Andrew Bronestine and Margaret Elizabeth Smith Bronestine. She married Duane Roy Trumblee in LaGrange, MO on June 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2011.

Norma was most importantly a homemaker, raising her seven children. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and making crafts. She and Duane turned the crafts into a business showing at many craft shows in Missouri and Iowa. She also worked at various other jobs such as cleaning houses, waitressing in the restaurant in Lamont, and a cook at the school. She reupholstered furniture and was a wonderful seamstress. Duane and Norma also owned and operated the Trumblee Hardware store in Lamont in the early 1980’s. They enjoyed spending winters in Zapata, Texas getting away from the Iowa winters. Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church at LaGrange, MO.

Surviving are five daughters and one son: Marsha (Carroll) Hoffman of Canton, Debra (John) O’Brien of Ewing, Sheila Trumblee of LaGrange, Judee (Jeff) Fuller of Kirksville, Becky (Mark) Tucker and Jim (Teri) Trumblee of Strawberry Point, Iowa. Fourteen grandchildren, Kim (Stacy) Berhorst, Justin (Holly) Hoffman, Sara Hoffman, Jamie (Gary) Oitker, Terry (Angela) O’Brien, Matt (Jennifer) O’Brien, Lori Trumblee, David (Taylor) Trumblee, Chante’ (Ryan) McKim, Cody Fuller and fiancé Lexi White, Cassandra Fuller, Alicia (TJ) Volquardsen, Jared (Leanne) Tucker, and Jordon Tucker. Twenty One great-grandchildren, Cali and Cole Berhorst, Alainah, Leah, and Anna Hoffman, Kristen and Taryn Oitker, Toby and Tyler O’Brien, McKenna and Nick O’Brien, Adustyn and Averi Trumblee, DaShawn, MiKayla, AshLynn, and Riley McKim, Ayden and Colton Volquardsen and Emersyn and Brooks Tucker. Also surviving are brother Verne (Betty) Bronestine and sister-in-law Bonnie Bronestine, brothers-in-law Alfred (Mardel) Trumblee and LaVon Trumblee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Linda Trumblee, her sisters Wanda (Russell) Pindell, Doris (Donald) Lay, and brother Wayne Bronestine.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO with Brother Orlie Yoder officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday night at the funeral home. Burial was in East Midway Cemetery near LaGrange, MO.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Terry and Matt O’Brien, Justin Hoffman, David Trumblee, Cody Fuller, and Jared and Jordan Tucker.

The family suggests memorials be made to the East Midway Cemetery.
