Mrs. Sara Yancey Polk, 88, of Route 2, Vidalia, died at her home on Friday of last week, following a brief illness. She was the widow of R.N. Polk, and a member of Center Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Center Methodist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Drake and the Rev. Glenn McCranie officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Cooper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Dick Thompson, Bobby Polk, Robert Dykes, Herbert Dykes, Jule Dykes, Gene Thompson.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. W.T. Dykes, Mrs. J.M. Dowdy, Mrs. P.A. Thompson, all of Vidalia; three sons, M.J. Polk of Vidalia, J.R. Polk of Milan, and W.R. Polk of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. C.H. Hilliard of Ellabell; 36 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
