Betty was born March 14, 1923, the daughter of Charles Issac Packard and Myrtle Gammell in Pocatello, Idaho. This is where she was raised and lived up until the last few years of her life. Betty came from a blended family of 12 children ( 5 boys and 7 girls ).
She was unable to graduate from high school because of health issues, but went on to receive her GED at the age of 47. She loved to crochet and crocheted many blankets, pillowcases and other items. She also was involved in the Neighborhood Watch program.
Betty was divorced and worked many various jobs so that she could support and raise her children; Tom, Mike, Teresa and Otto, who were the love of her life.
She loved going to Fort Hall to visit with her friends and to play bingo.
After having a stroke and some other health problems in 2013, Betty moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to live with her daughter Teresa and her husband LaMont.
Betty is survived by her children, Tom Johns, Hemet, California; Mike (Kae) Johns, Anaconda, Montana; Teresa (LaMont) Hansen, WVC, Utah; and Otta (Dorna) Anderson, Pocatello, Idaho. Brother, Ted (Donna) Packard, Inkom, Idaho; Sister, Barbara (Jerry) Lundburg, Cathedral City, California; Sister In Law, Kay Packard and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty was proceded in death by: her parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family may attend a viewing at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to graveside services at cemetery.
