Tablet: Thacher Taylor who died May 21st 1796 aged 31 years. He was a native of Barnstable, Massachusetts, a merchant of this city, and for several years a resident merchant of London. He possessed a noble heart, unshaken integrity, a happy temper, and refined manners. In commemoration of his many virtues and great worth, this monument is erected by a near and dear relative.
