Haunting legend: Sixteen year old Lucia Watson Taylor is said to be a frequent visitor of the cemetery, especially if it is dark and misty. Legend states that she appears in a white flowing dress and is seen kneeling by her grave.

Tablet Inscription: Lucia Watson Taylor, who died February 7th, 1816, aged 16 years. Blessed with peculiar sweetness of temper, a mind pure and exalted, a heart pious and faithful, she died beloved and lamented. Early, bright, transient, chaste as morning dew, she sparkled, was exhal'd and went to Heaven.
Footstone: L. W. T.

Lucia Watson Taylor was the daughter of John & Lucia Watson Taylor. Her family is detailed extensively in North American Family Histories. Her father was the son of Captain William Taylor of Barnstable, MA and her mother was of the Watson family of colonial Plymouth, MA and a descendant of Elkanah Watson.

Note: Moved to Lot 12 from Lot 142, owned by her uncle William W. Taylor (1769-1832) Merchant, Bank President.
