Early Chester Resident Dies

Rites Set Wednesday For Mrs. Ann Allison

Mrs. Ann Baxter Allison, a pioneer resident of Chester, died Saturday afternoon at 3 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. M. Dunbar of Washington, Pa. She was 83. Mrs. Allison, who resided on Virginia Ave., had been ill for somet ime and had lived with her daughter for the last two months. She was the widow of Oscar Allison, who died in 1931. Mrs. Allison was born in Hancock County. She was a graduate of West Liberty College and taught school at New Cumberland before her marriage in 1892. She was a member of the Chester Presbyterian Church, the Chester Women's Club and the Order of Eastern Star. In addition to the daughter, she leaves three grandsons. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Arner Chester Chapel by the Rev. William L. Claghorn. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and Tuesday.
