It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to Ruth, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cousin.
She was born in Lafayette, NJ on March 28, 1927, a daughter of the late David L. Sr. and Elizabeth Struble Jacobus. She had lived in Bedminster before moving to China, Maine in 1997 when her husband retired, near China Lake, an area they both loved after vacationing there for many years.
Ruth led a full and wonderful life surrounded by her large family of siblings, husband and children. She enjoyed cooking, singing around the house, needlepoint, and caring for her family.
Ruth was always caring for other children; be it at church on Sundays or in her home to numerous families over the years. In later years she enjoyed daily walks near her home on Three Mile Pond, watching the birds outside her window, enjoying her bell collection and visits from family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Raymond O. Reigle, who died November 22, 1999; 7 sisters and brothers, Edna Waite, Helen Henderson, Clifford, Irving, Warren, David, Jr., and Arthur Jacobus; a grandson, Jonathan Reigle, and a granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Patt Knepp.
Mrs. Reigle is survived by 3 sons, Robert Reigle and his wife, Dawne, of High Bridge, Richard Reigle and his wife, Karen, of Hillsborough, and Russell Reigle and his partner, Kelly Grotton, of Augusta, ME; a daughter, Brenda Franzone of Pottstown, PA; her former daughter-in-law, Cathy Burgess of Augusta, ME; 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth Reigle and her partner, Dan Cuoco, Amanda and Brittany Reigle, David Reigle and his wife, Julia, Rachel and Jennifer Reigle and Charles Patt; 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Eileen Lawler and her husband, John, of Statesville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral service at the Lamington Presbyterian Church, 355 Lamington Road, Bedminster on Saturday, Janaury 13 at 1:00pm.
Interment will take place in the church cemetery in the spring.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Layton Funeral Home 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
