Arthur T. Jacobus, 68, of High Bridge, NJ, died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. Born: On November 23, 1937 in Lafayette, NJ, he was a son of the late David L., Sr. and Elizabeth M. Struble Jacobus. Personal: He and his wife, the former Carol King, were married for 35 years. He had lived in Lamington and Somerville before moving to High Bridge 36 years ago. Arthur served six years with the Air Force and Air Force Reserves as a radio operator attaining the rank of Airman First Class. He was a 1982 graduate of DeVry Technical Institute in Woodbridge. Arthur was a laboratory technician employed by Hoffman-LaRoche in Branchburg for the past 14 years. He was previously employed by RCA in Branchburg as a lab technician for 25 years. An admirer of music, Arthur played the guitar and sang in various bands throughout his life. Memberships: Arthur was a member and past president of the High Bridge Athletic Association from 1971 to 1995 and a past president of the Voorhees Vikings Victory Club from 1975 to 1979. He attended the Clinton Church of the Nazarene and was a former member and elder of the Annandale Reformed Church. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by a son, Kenneth T. Jacobus of Glen Spey, NY; three daughters, Kathy A. Inman of Callands, Va, Cheryl L. Bower of Port Murray, NJ, and Debra L. Silliman of Bethlehem, Pa; a brother, Irving L. Jacobus Sr. of Wayne, NY; three sisters, Ruth Reigle of China Lake, Me, Edna Waite of Lafayette, NY, and Eileen Lawler of Hillsborough, NJ; and three grandchildren, Kyle Jacobus, Jacqueline Silliman, and Tyler Bower. Four siblings, Warren Jacobus, David L. Jacobus Jr., Helen Henderson, and Clifford Jacobus, all died earlier. Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Clinton Church of the Nazarene, 80 Beaver Avenue, Annandale. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster, NJ. Interment will follow services in the Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ. Memorials: Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset, NJ 08873; or to the High Bridge Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 14, 95 West Main Street, High Bridge, NJ 08829.
