Wayne Ennen was called Home on Monday, October 26, 2015. Wayne was 79 years old.
Wayne was born on June 13, 1936, in Quincy, IL, to Walter and Ada Mae Hanke Ennen. He married Julie, the love of his life and best friend on April 20, 1956.
Wayne, always strong in his Lutheran faith, grew up working on a farm in central Illinois, and early in life worked at a grain elevator as well as a grade school teacher. Wayne later became a salesman for Chevron Chemical. He was quickly promoted through the ranks and eventually was chosen as World Wide Marketing Manager. Wayne's career advancement took his family through Illinois, Iowa, Virginia, Oregon, New Jersey and California. He was elected president of the Western Ag Producers Association and sat on numerous other boards and associations during his storied professional career.
Wayne loved country music, wood working and "putzing" around the house. Even more, Wayne's special moments were spent with his daughters' love of horses and his son's love of basketball. Above and beyond all else, Wayne's heart was consumed with "his precious," Julie. They were man and wife for 59 years, but knew each other as children growing up in central Illinois. They shared chewing gum, raising a family with love, building uncounted houses, and knowing they touched many lives across the country.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife Julie; children, Marcy Rosendale and her husband Jeff, their children, Bryan Miller and his wife Adrianna, and Karie Smith and her husband Harold, Laury Ennen; and Jeff Ennen and his wife Darlene, their children, Brad Ennen and Bethany Anderson and her husband Kyle; Wayne's sisters, both from central Illinois, Beverly Donley and her husband Bob, and Janet Shoemaker and her husband Garold. Wayne is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
A Private Family Service was held on Friday, October 30, 2015.
