REXBURG - Carl Spencer Grover, 84, of Sunnydell, died of a stroke Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Rexburg Nursing Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1918, in Archer, Idaho, to Emma Maria Erickson and Elisha Freeman Grover. He lived most of his life in the Archer-Sunnydell area. On March 24, 1939, he married Melva Weekes. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 29, 1980. In 1945, he was called to serve in World War II and spent about one year after the war helping rebuild Germany. He was a farmer and worked as a potato warehouse foreman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and especially spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Melva, of Sunnydell; daughter, Peggy (William Scott) Green; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; brothers, Mark Green, Dayton Green and LaVar Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at the Lyman LDS chapel, 1952 W. 6000 South. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery in Archer.
