Venna Belle (York) Martin died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, IL. Venna and her husband Roy Earl, were married on Christmas Eve 1952. Raised in Hamilton County, she was the youngest of six siblings- Helen Ingram, Homer, Colleen “Jaybird”, Cletes, Clyde, and Vores.
Venna was a longtime employee of Sears, followed by Clay Furniture, and later retired from Dr. Nathan’s office. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is survived by her brother, Vores York of Fairfield, two daughters, Terri (Gary) Carter of Fairfield and Karen (Dennis) Lindsay of Eugene, OR; three grandchildren, Nick Carter, Nate (Callie) Carter, and Mia Lindsay, four great grandchildren, RE, Jude, Neve, and Knox.
