Hemet, CA - Charles, loved and respected by everyone he knew, passed quietly from this life into the hands of The Lord, Monday, November 6 from lung cancer. He was born and raised near Silverton, Oregon. He and Colleen Egan, his high school sweetheart, were married October 3, 1947 and raised their 3 children, Dennis, Nadene, and Kent on that same farm. He was always a farmer at heart and loved gardening. He spent the last 8 years of his life in Hemet, California.

Most importantly Charles was a man of deep faith. He was an elder, teacher and leader at the Stayton Christian Church for many years and led many of his family and acquaintances to faith. He was known as a man of great wisdom, kindness, and integrity.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Colleen and his son Dennis. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Nadene & Don Funkhouser, his son and daughter-in-law Kent & Myrna Morley and his daughter-in-law Barbara (Roten) Morley. He and Colleen had 10 adoring grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was the oldest son among 10 siblings and is survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

A private graveside service for family, will be held at Union Hill Cemetery at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 2nd. There will be a reception following at 1pm at the Turner Christian Church friends are invited to attend.
