Wally joined his wife in heaven early in the morning on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Wally was born in Salem, Oregon, on May 6, 1932, to Murrell and Vivian (Heater) Morley.
He was the sixth of ten children. Alice, Bertha, Charles, Edna, Glen and Roy survive him. Mary, Ralph and Robert preceded him in death.
He spent his childhood swimming, boxing and skating with his siblings and friends in the Silverton, Oregon area and loved reminiscing about his adventures during those days. He met the love of his life, Dorothy Ellis, when she came to his sister's house to buy milk. They were married on June 1, 1952, and enjoyed 62 years of marriage before Dorothy passed away on November 21, 2014.
Wally proudly served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954, and was stationed at Fort MacArthur, San Pedro, California. During that time, his first son Alan Wallace was born. Their second son, Ronald Lynn, was born a year and a half later in Hillsboro, Oregon. Ron passed away in 2013 after a brief battle with cancer.
Most of Wally's working years were spent behind the wheel of a log truck/Low Boy. He worked for many different trucking companies throughout Oregon and was very proud of his work.
Wally had a passion for cars. He drove and owned two sprint cars and loved racing.
He was involved in the local community, serving on the Board of the Friendly Kitchen. He was a member of the 32nd degree Mason Hillah Shrine and was the Governor of the local Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.
Wally deeply loved his family and never met a stranger. He was a practical joker and had endless stories that he was happy to share. Some of them were even true.
He leaves behind his son, Alan; daughter-in-law, Kathy; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Chapel of the Roses on Monday, October 10, 2016, at 4 p.m.
