EDWARD PIGOTT, SR. was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1790, son of GEORGE PIGOTT (1751-1809) & MARY (LeMASTERS).


Edward Pigott (Sr.) spent the early years of his life in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, with his parents & siblings. His father was listed on the tax lists & census of Bedford County, PA, for 1793, 1798, 1800, 1808, & 1809; His father died in Bedford Co., PA, when Edward was 18 years old in March, 1809.


After his father's death, Edward moved with his mother/family to Harrison County, (W.) Virginia, by the summer of 1810, & here he was living at the time of the War of 1812-14.


"Edward Pigott" served in the War of 1812-1814 in the 5th Regiment of the Virginia Militia. He enlisted in Harrison County, (W.) Virginia, on Sept. 1, 1813 as a Private for 6 months service. He was honorably discharged at Fort Nelson near Norfolk, VA, after taken sick after 4 months service on December 23, 1813.

After their marriage, they initially lived in Washington County, Ohio, where their daughter, Lottie, was born. Then they moved across the Ohio River to Wood County, (W.) EDWARD PIGOTT, SR. was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1790, son of GEORGE PIGOTT (1751-1809) & MARY (LeMASTERS).
