After her marriage, Cecelia & her husband, Abraham P. Shinn, first settled in Tyler Co., (W.) Virginia.

RESIDENCE: Tyler County, (W.) Virginia, in 1840 (in census household w/ husband, Abraham P. Shinn)

"Abraham Shinn" is listed as head of household on the 1840 Tyler Co., (W.) Va., census with: (3 males under age 5, 1 male 20-29 (Abraham), 2 females age 20-29 (Cecelia & ?) [next to his mother, Mary Shinn]

After 1840, Abraham P. & Cecelia were living in Wood Co., (W.) Virginia, where they had 3 young sons.

RESIDENCE: Wood County, (W.) Virginia, in 1850

Abraham P. & Cecelia both died from typhoid in 1850; Abraham in April 1850 & Cecelia in June 1850; Their minor children were then raised in family/friends' households.
