Marianne Whitacre Arnott, 82, of Burlington, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at her home.
Born June 21, 1933, in Capon Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Osa and Goldie Arnold Whitacre. Also preceding her in death were 2 sons, Tracy and Mickie Peacemaker.
She was a homemaker and loved Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Suriviving are 2 sons, Samuel F. Peacemaker of Richmond, Va., and Matthew A. Arnott of Paw Paw; 2 daughters, J. Kimberly Keckler of Caledonia, Ohio, and Roberta K. Litt of Burlington; a brother, Julian "Toadie" Whitacre of Romney; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 1-2 p.m. at Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Alanna McGuinn officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery near Gore, Va.
