Mrs. Richard C. Burgess
Mrs. Olive Burgess, who formerly lived at 420 South Chestnut, died today at the Allen County Hospital.

Born June 15, 1879, in Delaware County, Indiana, she lived in Hartford City, Indiana, until moving to Kansas in 1907. In 1912 she moved to Iola from Coffeyville. She married Richard C. Burgess on December 4, 1897. He preceded her in death July 27, 1933. A son, Lafe, died in 1960.

Mrs. Burgess was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Carl Burgess of Iola, eight daughters, Mrs. Orin (Audrey) Crandall of Indiana, Mrs. Jack (Gladys) Stark of Ottawa, Mrs. Clarence (Bonnie) Cleveland and Mrs. Sara Holt of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Robert (Fern) Newton and Mrs. J. C. (Violet) Williams of Kansas City, Mrs. Joe (Della) Boyer of Chanute, Mrs. Lee (Jeanne) St. Clair of Parsons, a sister, Mrs. Edna Weekly of Richmond, Indiana; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Waugh-Yokum Funeral Home.
